When Po started screaming before our ride to the airport even showed up, I knew the red eye was going to mean a long night. She SCREAMED through security, onto the plane, and merely cried through most of the flight. It actually was SO bad, I got the giggles.
But Ana and Elsie were champs. They were obviously trained well in our family travelling boot camp that Po somehow missed.
Jonah picked us up right on time in Seattle in an old car that our friends had stored for us. We rushed right over to Trader Joe's and Elsie's life had meaning again, as shown by her cuddling with the macaroni box.
The car we left here was actually the one station wagon (of five) that we owned that we couldn't sell because it was in such bad condition. We hated the thing. Jonah fixed some stuff on it, but we thought it was basically hopeless. WELL, I have changed my tune after driving our Maui cruiser rust bucket back massage jalopy. This car here is a DREAM! It's actually nearly perfect in my book, even with 275000 miles on it. Look! No rust! And the seats are leather! And there are no stains! Wow, I used to be so spoiled.
On the other hand, the weather here in Washington sucks. I am spoiled in the other direction now.
It's great to be back in Washington, though... nothing has changed, yet everything has grown. I'm glad we skipped the winter weather and came straight to the greenest time of the greenest place on earth.
Here is Cam dressing up like a rock star with some things he found in the car.
Jonah has been working late and hard on refurbishing/re-engining this great old Mercedes G Wagen. It's been a labor of love because he has met some major hurdles, but he's still pressing on. Check out the hole in his pants! He's had those pants since we were dating. Hopefully everything will fit together perfectly and it'll get done in time for us to head south to start seeing family. I can't wait!

No trader joes in Hawaii? How do you survive? Will has some shirts from when we were dating...they look very similar to Jonah's pants. You better get Po enrolled in your travelling boot camp if you are going to survive your summer travels--and where do I sign my kids up for said camp?
