Anas 9th Birthday

At the end of the month, Ana had her two-day birthday celebration... she wanted it to be three or four days, but I had to draw the line. She's been planning it ALL month, and I just wanted it to end, to be honest. She did a great job doing all the invitations, party planning and implementation ALL BY HERSELF. I'm a mean mom, I know, but sometimes just letting her do it all herself is the only way to appease her... even if I do have to step back and let her make her own mistakes.
All and all everything turned out great, though, and her NINE friends that came all seemed to have a great time. The weather cooperated, and so Ana was able to do all of her outdoor games she had planned, even if some of them were too complicated for anyone to actually understand.

This is about as good as my cake decorating gets. HEY! I've never aspired to be Martha Stewart or anything... just want it to taste good.

Of course one of the games was a race around the horse jumping course that Ana created... complete with "horse trainer" in the middle who would hold a stick or whip and tell the "horses" to go faster or jump higher.

We filled up about 100 balloons and had some tossing, sling shots, and good ole' water fights going on.

Can you tell how THRILLED she is... I foresee a future in event planning.

Here actual birthday was on a Sunday, so we kept it low key with some fancy Jonah pancakes...

And some nice little presents, like this beauty...
Seriously, I used to LOVE my gymnastics ribbon... glad my girls can have one to whirl around now too.

Ana is the best girl! I am glad Aja did this post because Ana deserves a lot of acclaim. You should have seen the "bear lake style" obsticle course complete with detailed instructions and crazy outfits.

How fun! That girl is amazing! Can it be a year since we baptized her in the lake? She did an amazing job on this! I can see her mom and dad coming out in her more every day! The cakes were amazing! Martha Stewart would love them. Looks like some cute friends too. Wish we could have seen all that frolicking but this is second best! Thanks for sharing and hug that darling, creative girl for us!
