We were so lucky to have my sister Sonna and her husband Sloan and daughter Ruthie come visit us last week! They've been living in NZ for a year, so we haven't seen them since we left NZ! They have finally moved back to the USA for good so Sloan can go to UNLV Dental School.
They are pretty much superstars in New Zealand, so they had to keep up their disguise from the paparazzi. No actually, it was REALLY cold while they were here. Total bummer. It was the normal fairly warm weather the first day Sonna was here, but we had an adventure at Bellingham and the Seattle Zoo and a crazy park and I forgot the camera for my battery. Now all they will remember is how cold it was the rest of the time!
We did brave the weather and take a hike in the Olympic National Park to a waterfall.
Not the safest bridge, but totally fitting.
Look at the air Sonna got in this photo... and she's 21 weeks pregnant!
Cam's attempt to get the girls to do a jumping photo.
Man! I missed my niece! Look at how cute she is!
We also went on a ride/walk to the railroad bridge park.
And to the beach up the road.
No matter how cold it is, Ana insists on being barefoot at the beach.
Sonna and Sloan.
It may not be golden, but we still have sand!
Sandcastles.
Jonah was to preoccupied on the phone to notice I was taking the photo. Yea!
Elsie shared her many costumes with Ruthie.
And we played with the animals.
Don't you think I look like that famous picture of bigfoot? Except that I'm dressed?
Luckily Sonna and family were here to help us celebrate Jonah's birthday because she did the majority of the cooking!
Big birthday crowd! Had to break out a few extra gallons of ice cream.
One magical find was a very special Wolf Shirt for Jonah. Arooooooooh!
This is how the poor guy had to open his presents. Many helpers.
Afterwards Sloan got a belated birthday present too. He asked for it.

So much fun! Fabulous pictures too! It may be cold but the light is amazing up there. Give that birthday boy an extra hug from us!
I'm so glad those guys got to come! It looks like such a fun visit. I love the farm update too and hearing about all the other stuff you guys are up to. LOVE YOU!
Bigfoot... love it.
Your blog makes me laugh.
So glad you put those photos of you up because they're gorgeous... even when you look remarkably similar to Sasquatch.
We had the best time on our visit. Thanks for driving us & feeding us & trying to keep us warm & for teaching Sloan how to install cabinets! We want to be your NEXT DOOR neighbors someday.
