Mini-farm Update

We finally got the dirt moved around so we could hook up the fence and get some livestock.

And we found some lambs on a bike ride by our house! I'd been looking forever for some affordable sheep and we just rode by a sheep farm one morning and Jonah said, "Let's go ask them!"
Well. We have three lambs, about 2 months old. Weaned--so we don't have to bottle feed them. Two females and one castrated male (called a wether). Not super friendly, but so far very well behaved. Not doing so well on mowing the grass though--the grass is growing like an inch a day and lambs just don't eat that much.

We had some great March and April weather. The kids loved jumping around outside.

Cam and Elsie pretty much live in this tree.

We sold off most of our chickens, including the one above. We've gone from 27 chickens down to only 6! Three roosters and three hens. No eggs yet, but they should come any day.

This is the fat rooster. Swan. He's hilarious.

He really hated that rooster that he's chasing. I sold the other rooster to save his life.
I just love this photo because Swan is so fat he can't even run properly.

The pigs are fattening nicely, even though they are truly mangy. Seriously. They have mange. First time I've ever had a farm animal with a problem that required medication. It's getting better now.
They love to sleep tip to tail. What strange animals.
