They survived!

I think every mom gets worried when she leaves her kids. I know hens do it. They are frantic when you take them away from their brood, or even just one chick. Then, magically, after about an hour or two, as long as they can’t hear their chicks, they just go about their business. It doesn’t mean that they don’t excitedly take back their chicks when they see them again, I think that initial worry and anxiety subsides and they realize that they are still their own individual.

That’s exactly how I feel. I don’t worry about anything specific, just a general worry. But once I start on my journey, I’m fine.

And they are fine. And they were totally fine while I was gone. Jonah… well… he may say differently, but he thrived. The kids were even better when I got back. They do well with Jonah. Ana probably gets the brunt of it because her work load increases dramatically, but everyone else was happy and healthy.

Here are some of the photos they emailed me while I was on the cruise:

Ana has a friend over and they played fashion show I guess…

Po’s hair is not parted correctly…

But Ana did a nice job with Elsie’s hair.

Jonah only buys milkshakes when I’m gone.

Some katsu curry to make me jealous (too bad I was on a cruise with unlimited seafood, so you can’t make me jealous, even with katsu…)

They did make me jealous with all the garage sales they went to… and Po’s belly is huge.

And the kids cooked a bunch of meals. Ramen and peas…. one of their favorites.

Poor Jonah had to take the kids to two swim meets while I was gone. Swim Meets are fun, but not when there is only one parent to keep track of Po. Only three more years until she can swim… whew…

By the way, Cam is the one with the correct entry dive above. Lovely.

So yes, they survived, and I got back safely last September feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Thanks Rick and Linda and Jonah!!!!

I'm so glad everyone survived so beautifully! Congrats Jo! Now that he's so experienced, MFME is going to be a piece of cake!

Way to hold down the fort Jonah. I am super jealous of your kid-free trip Aja. It looks like you all had a lovely time.
