Christmas Festivities in Seattle

This is a very random blog post, but I didn’t know how else to distribute this information.

In case any of you are lucky enough to be in or around Seattle for the Christmas season, I thought I’d point out some local Christmas festivities that were passed on to me:

Giant Gingerbread Houses: At the Sheraton in downtown Seattle (1400 6th Ave). Open all day, every day through Christmas. They are made by local architectural firms and proceeds from donations go towards research for kids with Type 1 Diabetes.

Bellevue Botanical Gardens have free admission next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Check it out here: http://www.gardendlights.org/

Poulsbo is hosting a caroling contest this Saturday, Dec. 11th, starting at Front Street.

Port Gamble has a tree lighting ceremony Saturday, Dec. 11th, that also includes fireworks!

There is also the Argosy Christmas Ship “parade” every night at a different port until Christmas (Like Lake Union, Lake Washington, etc.)

Last year we went to the Seattle Center and had a leisurely time checking out the model train in the Food Court.

We are far away from Sequim for this Christmas, but this is really making me wish we could be in Seattle for at least a couple days to enjoy the crisp Christmasness of the Northwest.
